The SpiceTracks placement team will review your music and then determine whether or not to add your music to the SpiceTracks catalog.

Spicerack will forward you an agreement to be signed and returned.

Any person or persons responsible for music placement in television, film, or advertising. This list includes, but is not limited to Music Directors, Music Supervisors, Producers, Directors, and Corporate Executives.

Spicerack and the client agree on the appropriate placement fee and a Spicerack representative will contact the composer via email to notify the composer about the details of the placement. These details include the client, the placement fee, the expected time of payment, and the expected royalties associated with the placement.

No. When you submit your music to Spicerack, you do have the right to restrict Spicerack from using your music in certain contexts (e.g. alcohol commercials), but after a song is placed, Spicerack has the right to collect the appropriate placement fees associated with the composition as per the Submission agreement.

Yes. As per the submission agreement, we require all musicians to notify us if one of their songs in the SpiceTracks catalog gets placed in television, film, or advertising through another company.

So long as the agreement is intact, Spicerack will continue to offer and promote your music in the SpiceTracks catalog.

Spicerack requires composers to give a ninety (90) day notice so that we can make sure that the song is removed properly. If special circumstances arise, we will make exceptions to this on a case by case basis.

Spicerack does not have any firm qualitative requirements for a track to be considered for review, however we are a selective company that looks to promote top quality music.

No. Spicerack does not accept music that contains samples under any circumstances. Because the written consent of all composers are needed for the song to be pre-cleared, Spicerack cannot accept submissions containing samples from other composers.

Become a member! Spicerack will accept music that has not been registered at a Performing Rights Organization (PRO) and collect and distribute initial placement revenues, but Spicerack is not responsible for monitoring future revenues generated from royalties. Spicerack does not monitor the royalties generated by placed music, but will submit cue-sheets to your PRO. After a track is placed, the PRO that the song is registered under will monitor and distribute the royalties generated by that song.

Artists can expect to earn placement revenues tied to the project’s budget. Corporate projects typically have larger budgets whereas independently funded projects have smaller budgets.

Once Spicerack receives payment from a client a check will be sent to the composer within ten business days. Please note that royalty payments from PROs usually take between six and nine months.
